A handmade stereo (maybe harsh) noise shaker, rattle, and contact microphone instrument built from recycled materials.
Containing two internal piezo elements, GOLDSTAN captures the physical movement inside and around it and outputs it electronically.
This stereo output can be split, allowing each element to be routed independently through different effects pedals, processors, or signal chains for further sound manipulation.
GOLDSTAN comes containing removable wooden plugs, you can experiment with different materials and fillings to create new textures and responses.
As well as being played as a shaker or rattle, GOLDSTAN can be placed directly against a surface and used as a contact microphone to capture vibrations from objects, instruments, and environments. It can also be tapped as a percussion instrument.
The unit is completely passive and requires no power. It connects via a 3.5mm TRS output and requires amplification to be heard.
